Executive Meeting

The executive met following the annual dinner with all members present.

The main topic of discussion was our events for the season and trying to avoid burnout this year. We have added some new events to help keep things more interesting.

At present we do not have all the information on these events so this list will be brief and more details will be sent as they become available. Must attend events are listed with 10 stars. Recommended events have five stars. You, of course, are free to attend any event you wish.

Clothing

At the start of the meeting concern was expressed over clothing, especially for new members. If you are in doubt contact your officers or a member of the executive before you start sewing or buying. We are militia and as such have more leeway than other groups but we still must be historically accurate. If you fail to follow these guidelines you may be wasting time and or money because if it is incorrect you will be asked to change. Backus

Ruth Schumaker has agreed to co-ordinate volunteer activities at the Backus event. Many members will be asked to help with the preparation, serving and cleaning up of the meal

Memberships

A reminder that memberships and insurance are payable by Spring Training. Cheques, payable to the Norfolk Militia, can be sent to the above address or to Ruth, at 201 Stewart St., Peterborough, Ont., K9J 3M6. A single membership is $15, a family is $20 and remember that each and every Norfolk must pay the $10 insurance fee.

Training

Spring Training is fast approaching, April 23, 24 and 25, at the Backus Heritage Conservation Area. Everyone planning on taking the field must attend, hopefully for the entire weekend, but for at least one day.

Other training sessions have been planned for the rest of the winter and a list is available on our website. Click Here for this information.

Events

As stated earlier this is only a brief list to give you an idea of what the season looks like. A more complete list is contained on our website. When full details have been received a more complete list will be sent out listing such things as meals etc.
